Definitions of Poetry & Prose:

Poetry:
A form of writing that uses rhythm, rhyme, and line breaks to convey a feeling, meaning, or sound. Poetry can be structured with a set meter, or it can be freeform. Poetry often uses figurative language, such as metaphors and similes, to create images or expressive ideas.

Prose:
A form of writing that follows grammar rules and is organized into sentences and paragraphs. Prose is typically straightforward and doesn't use line breaks. Prose is often used for novels, essays, and nonfiction writing.

Submissions must be scanned/uploaded and emailed to: rands@michigancec.org or mailed to the address below.

Posters and poetry/prose must be postmarked by December 20, 2024.
