Register with a Purchase Order
A registration form for each attendee must be included with the purchase order.
The Purchase Order must be made out to Council for Exceptional Children (3100 Clarendon Blvd. Suite 600, Arlington, VA 22201) and list the MCEC Conference as the item.

Full-time undergraduate and graduate students at Michigan colleges/universities, as well as high school students in CTE teacher/education programs, are invited to attend the annual conference at reduced rates. This is made possible through a grant from the Michigan Department of Education, Office of Special Education, to encourage future educators to grow professionally in the field of special education and to introduce them to the benefits of CEC membership.
Undergraduate students may also apply for a stipend to help cover Wednesday workshops and Thursday/Friday sessions.
Student Stipend Eligibility
- Must be a full-time undergraduate student at a Michigan Institution of Higher Education (IHE).
- Must submit proper documentation at the end of the conference (session tracking form and evaluation).
- High school students are eligible for reduced registration but are not eligible for reimbursement.
Application Process
- Complete the online registration.
- At the conference, stop by the CEC Student booth to submit documentation:
- Registration-only reimbursement: Submit your forms and receive a cash reimbursement.
Stipend Includes
- Thursday/Friday Registration: Pay $20 upfront. Full reimbursement is provided with proper documentation.
- Wednesday Workshop Registration: Pay $25 upfront. Full reimbursement is provided with proper documentation. Students must attend the entire Wednesday workshop to qualify for reimbursement.
- Wednesday + Thursday/Friday (3-Day Ticket): Pay $45 upfront. Full reimbursement is provided with proper documentation.
Cancellations requested on or before January 31, 2027 (11:59 p.m. ET) will incur a $100 cancellation fee, or the full registration fee if the registration cost is less than $100. Cancellations received between February 1, 2027, and March 2, 2027, will incur a $250 cancellation fee, or the full registration fee if the registration cost is less than $250. No refund requests will be granted once the conference begins on March 3, 2027. No exceptions will be made to this policy.
